I am a Registered Dietitian and one of the founders of The Life Plan. I will be bringing you all the nutrition content, advice, tips and recipes. Here's a little bit about me...
Since earning my First-Class Honours degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Surrey I have been working as a Registered Dietitian in the NHS. Registered Dietitians are the only nutrition professionals who are governed and regulated by law. This means that we must provide up-to-date evidence-based advice and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
My dietetic experiences spans both community and acute settings. This means I work with a broad range of patients, from those wanting to achieve healthy, sustainable weight loss to those who require tube feeding to meet their nutritional requirements. My special interests in the Dietetic field range from weight management to sports nutrition. The power that our diet has over our health and wellbeing is quite astounding and I honestly look forward to helping each member understand the impact of nutrition and how healthy food choices can be delicious and sustainable.
A little about me – I’m a foodie! I was such a fussy eater as a child, vegetables were an absolute no-go, but as a teenager a switch flipped and I am now willing to give most (edible) foods a try! I understand what it is like to enjoy your food but also have that goal of weight loss or ‘being healthier’ in the back of your mind. I was like this before I was a Dietitian! I used to work at an investment bank (not fun), went totally the opposite way and became cabin crew (lots of fun), then went back to Uni to study Dietetics (hard work but so rewarding) and voila the rest is history.
